95년 5월 16일 중앙일보 지면을 통해 처음 연재된 본 칼럼이 오늘로 꼭 1천회를 맞는다.
필자에게는 정말 의미있는 날인데 이는 그 동안 성원을 보내준 독자들과 지면을 할애해준 중앙일보 덕분이라고 생각한다.
"오늘은 나에게 의미있는 날이다. " 를 영어로는 "Today is a significant day for me." 라고 한다.
가령 "Today is a significant day for me because I've reached the 1, 000th column in today's newspaper." 하면 "오늘 신문에 1, 000회 칼럼을 연재하기 때문에 오늘은 의미있는 날이다. " 가 되며, "Today is a significant day for the couple because it's their 25th wedding anniversary." 하면 "오늘은 그 부부의 결혼 25주년이기 때문에 그들에게는 의미있는 날이다. " 가 된다.
비슷한 표현으로 "Today is a meaningful day for me." "Today is an important day for me." "Today is special for me." 등이 있다.

A:Yes, it's the 1, 000th time your column has appeared in the JoongAng Ilbo.
